I finally got around to going through Techno Feudalism by Yanis Varoufakis (I got the gist of it long ago though). His proposals for healthier democratic systems are compelling (summarized in that book but more fully fleshed out in prior book Another Now).
The gist is about worker co-ops with other aspects of governance designed to be democratic and including lottery-style citizen-assemblies and other details…
The main thought I had was whether things he proposes are unenclosable as described at Unenclosable Carriers and the Future of Communication - Holochain Blog
And my initial sense is that rather than anything being inherently unenclosable, it’s still feasible to design things with checks-and-balances and include a lot of education to help people care about the health of the systems such that enclosability can be resisted and healthy systems maintained…
