Splitting a single post into multiple topics

Continuing the discussion from Tracking topics vs first-posts:

I found one that has a rejection reply: https://meta.discourse.org/t/move-only-part-of-a-reply-and-some-other-entire-replies-to-a-new-topic/32114 and an older less-rejected thread https://meta.discourse.org/t/move-only-part-of-a-reply-and-some-other-entire-replies-to-a-new-topic/32114/3

Also, here’s a workaround (from https://meta.discourse.org/t/splitting-a-message-in-2/110231/2?u=wolftune)

An admin can do that:

  1. Edit post, cut part of the text
  2. Create a reply, paste text
  3. Change ownership of the reply
  4. Move reply to a new topic

A moderator lacks the capability to change the ownership of a post, but that could change .
