In another thread I proposed a budget mechanism for projects that would allow pledgers to directly pay the bills of creators and projects.
Other mechanisms have been suggested and discussed in the forums. In this topic I propose that the original Crowd Matching mechanism be used as a gatekeeping mechanism to restrict access to additional ways of donating, one of which could be the budget proposal. Other ways of supporting projects and creators could exist behind the crowd match process, such as contributions to bug bounties, one off kickstarter like goals for specific items, etc. This is similar to how Patreons on Patreon get access to additional content if they are a supporter of a creator or project on that website.
